Automaker Renault India has plans to launch 1.0-litre variant of Kwid hatchback this month. Renault aims to increase its market share further by the launch of powerful Kwid.Renault had announced that the model shall get a 1.0 litre variant in 2016 at the auto expo. The new Kwid is reported to produce a power of 64 BHP with a 1.0 litre engine. This model shall have an easy R-AMT option instead of standard.

The Kwid with a 0.8-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine is expected to produce a power of   52 BHP and 72 Nm of torque. Renault expects to cross sales of around 70 000 with the new model launch.

This new 1.0 model is very similar to its current model. The top variant of the model may get dual airbags option. This new model is expected to give tough competition to Alto K10 and the Hyundai Eon 1.0L. Renault Kwid has emerged as a winner in the entry level hatch segment and renault aims to cement its position with the new launch.
