Maruti-Suzuki Swift soon to go out of stock

Swift from Maruti Suzuki has been the most sold car in the country and the sales can be attributed only to the performance and the fuel efficiency. This noble steed is expected to go out of stock very soon as the Manesar plant had been shut down recently after the violent act of vandalism. Manesar plant is the sole manufacturer of the Maruti- Suzuki Swift and it has been speculated that the abeyance caused by the violence would not be resumed anytime sooner. With this extended suspension, the waiting period for the customers would be longer than it was before. The most affected would be the suppliers who are dependent on the car. This would also mean that the sales would go down drastically.

Managing Director of Maruti, S Nakanishi said that the manufacturing of Maruti Swift has been halted completely as the plant is totally shut at Manesar. Last year crisis was averted by the shifting the frame to Gurgaon for the final assembly but such an assembly cannot be done as the gravity of the situation is higher, he said.

Of all the cars sold in India, Swift was much higher in numbers which also beat Alto, the hatchback that was the most sold last year. The effect could be felt clearly as customers were on the look for the best fuel-efficient cars. There were more than 55,216 Swifts that were sold in just three months which is a rise of 68% in sale compared to the same last year. The sales of Swift Dzire had risen by an unbelievable 87% to 46,958 cars.
