Well we are hearing this name for the past 24 hours and sources say that Satya Nadella would crown as the CEO of software giant Microsoft Corporations. Who is this guy and what is his association with Microsoft. So here we are providing brief information about Satya Nadella.
Is he from India?
Yes definitely and that too a Hyderabadi. Born on 1967 in Hyderabad, Satya Nadella completed his schooling in the very famous Hyderabad Public School (HPS). He then completed his engineering in Electronic and Communications from Manipal University. To pursue Masters, Satya went to US. He completed his Master of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Also went on to get an MBA degree from University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Journey to Microsoft
After MBA, Satya took up a job in Oracle owned Sun Micro systems. Till 1992, Satya was working for Sun Micro systems and later he shifted to Microsoft. As a Program Manager in the Windows Developer Relations group, Satya started his career in Microsoft and then after he never looked back. Within no time he became the Senior Vice President of Research and Development for the company’s online services rank. Satya then was instrumental in Microsoft's search engine bing and client-server software to cloud infrastructure and services.
Office 365 which is known as the cloud version of Microsoft office was introduced by Satya and his team. Currently, Nadella leads Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise group, which is working towards developing and running computing programmes, developer tools and cloud services.
Microsoft has been searching for a new CEO since Steve Ballmer stepped down in August 2013. This 47 year old is in race for CEO post now and has more the opportunity than anyone from the company. Nadella received compensation valued at about $7.6 million for the 2013 financial year, including $669,167 in salary, a $1.58 million bonus and a $5.4 million stock award. If Satya is made the CEO, his compensation would be doubled and a huge stock would be awarded to him.
The official announcement of new CEO of Microsoft is expected by Friday evening according to the US timings. History is all set to repeat.
