Software giant Microsoft will be reducing its staff in order to integrate Nokia Oyj's handset unit, reported Bloomberg. This will be Microsoft's biggest job cuts in five years and the estimate figure could be around 10,000. In the year 2009 Microsoft bid good bye to 5,800 employees.
The job cuts will majorly be Nokia and parts of Microsoft which overlaps with business, marketing and engineering. Microsoft has 1,27,000 employees, more than compared to its rival Apple and Google and 30,000 employees were added after the purchase of Nokia.
Also Bloomber reported that, last week CEO Satya Nadella circulated a memo to all the employees promising to flatten the organisation and develp leaner business processes. However they was no indication of job cuts. Microsoft will reports its quarterly results on July 22nd and Satya is expected to address all the organisational and financial issues for the company's new financial year.
