Reliance Jio announces Sattlite Broadband in India:- Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) announced a joint venture with SES which is a Luxembourg-based satellite service provider to provide next-generation scalable and affordable broadband services in the country. Jio Platforms Limited will own 51 percent and SES will have 49 percent stake in the joint venture told RIL. Reliance Jio is in plans to provide SES's satellite data and connectivity services in the country except the international aeronautical and maritime customers. SES will provide 100 Gbps capacity through satellite broadband. The total value of the project is 100 million USD.
Akash Ambani, Director of Jio Platforms said that Jio will expand the fibre-based connectivity and FTTH business. "This new project will accelerate the growth of gigabit broadband. Jio will also be available in the remotest towns and villages in the new digital India. We are teaming up with SES's innovative leadership and they are experts in the satellite industry. The project aligns with Gati Shakti Initiative by the government and is aimed at providing seamless connectivity. More details about the project are expected to be announced very soon. This would be the first satellite broadband project in the country.
