The Top Five Medical Tests Every Couple Should Take Before Getting Married:- Well, you might be wondering what the tests could be looking at the title right? Do you think it is weird? But, it is important to take a few tests to avoid problems later as marriage is a commitment for life and whether it is arranged or love.

It is a norm to match horoscopes of the girl and the guy, in India and only if it is a good match the families agree to take this forward in an arranged marriage setting. And in love marriages, the couple do not bother getting themselves checked as they already know enough about each other. But,  when there is a medical condition or pregnancy then the problem arises.

It is best to find out beforehand about each other’s medical history sometimes, before you tie the knot to avoid problems later. We have listed below some of the few tests that are recommended for both partners to see if you are medically compatible.

It is very common that most of the people know what their blood group is. But, you may not know about the person blood group with whom you are set to marry.

This test is not just to find out your blood group but also to know if you both are compatible the either way. Not everyone can donate blood to everyone and it is important to know if you both can give blood to one another. Moreover, when it comes to pregnancy, blood group is also important as certain blood groups are not compatible with each other and can lead to complications during conception and in the baby’s health as well.

It is a good idea to know if your fertile and your body is for reproduction, as most of the couples plan to have babies after marriage. Both men and women should take fertility tests and share the results with each other so that there is no room for bitterness later.

It is a good idea to find out each other’s family’s medical history as you know if there is some ailment that runs in the family. Be it diabetes, heart disease or even hair loss, know what you and your partner may suffer from later to take precautionary measures. Before getting married, get checked for these conditions and inform your partner as well if there is anything worrisome.

It is important to know if you or your partner is infected by any of it beforehand, as the HIV and STDs can be easily passed on from one person to the other. This is an information that should not be hidden so that there are no problems later. Your partner can choose to be with you and care for you, even if you are positive, provided they have not been kept in the dark.

Doing a complete blood count (CBC) test, can detect Thalassemia. In order to prevent the chances of a birth defect in children, it is an important test that both partners need to do.

This test helps find out if you have thalassemia minor or not.
Even though, thalassemia minor is not a problem. But, there is a high chance that the child born may have thalassemia major, when two people who have thalassemia minor get married, which can be a cause of concern.

So it is best to know before you tie the knot so that you can plan your future accordingly.
