Riding on the wave of the spirited Telangana agitation, N. Shankar-directed ‘Jai Bolo Telangana’, the movie with the backdrop of the Telangana agitation, had completed 50 days of screening on Friday.
‘Jai Bolo Telangana’, in which popular hero Jagapathi Babu played an important role, was mired in controversy before its release as the Censor Board ordered some cuts in the movie saying that some of the scenes and dialogues might hurt the sentiments of the people of a region.
T groups resorted to dharnas out side the censor board office in Hyderabad and also alleged that that some of the Seema Andhra leaders were behind the censor board’s order. After days of wrangling, allegations and counter allegations, the movie was released across AP on February 4 and most of the centers in Telangana area completed the 50 days of screening.
