E.V.V Satyanarayana, a well known Telugu producer-director and the father of hero Allari Naresh, breathed his last in a city hospital on Friday night. He has been undergoing treatment for throat cancer for the last few days and his condition became serious yesterday. He is survived by two sons and wife.
EVV, who directed 51 movies in his film career spanning over 3 decades, made his debut as a director through ‘Chevilopuvvu’ and tasted success with ‘Premakhaidi’ in 1991. The films produced by Suresh Productions constituted majority of the movies directed by him.
His big hits included, among others, Nagarjuna’s Hello Brother, Venkatesh’s Abbayigaru, Intlo Illalu Vantintlo Priyuralu and Maa Naanaku Pelli. He directed the super hit Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘Suryavamsh’ in Hindi. He was also team of the directors who directed Thali in Hindi.
EVV also turned into a Tollywood producer with Chala Bhagundi. He introduced his two sons to Telugu Film industry, His elder son Aryan Rajesh’s debut film was “Hai”. But Aryan Rajesh didn’t catch the hearts of audiences. Naresh, E.V.V’s younger son, carved a niche for himself in the Tollywood with his debut film ‘Allari’ directed by Ravi prakash.
The industry bigwigs, several producers and directors, expressed their condolences to the family members of the EVV and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
