He came, he saw, he conquered , this might be the shortest possible description that can be attributed to the rise and rise of Shah Rukh Khan who made an image way larger than life. He is adored by millions for he made romance so intense that the audience cried when he cried in a film, smiled when he smiled and fancied the very idea of love the way he portrayed it. Call it make believe but you just can't ignore that whenever you write something about him you are bound to get puzzled by the cliche of compliments surrounding his glittering status in Indian Cinema. And yes today he turned 47. Many many happy returns of the day Shah Rukh.
Anyways SRK is not known for having a grand affair on his birthday but this year the happiness is dimmed because of the sudden demise of his mentor and legendary film-maker Yash chopra who was arguably the most instrumental factor in his success . Every film he did with late Yash Chopra , the King of Hearts as the industry fondly tags him, was an another stepping stone for attaining the enviable super stardom that he enjoys.
So the sense of loss is quiet evident hence the occasion will be a low key affair. SRK states, I'm planning to work that's all I know at least during the daytime. Besides, it has never been a special day for me. Of course, I'll make sure that I thank all my well-wishers from radio stations and newspapers, as usual.
He added for the fans "It has become a thing now. Every single year, I see people arriving with cakes and cards. It's a simple joy. But I wake up late, so maybe I should set up a shamiana for them to help them avoid the sun. It's a humbling experience to greet people."
Interestingly, SRK's 21st wedding anniversary fell just four days after Chopra's demise and as expected, the event turned out to be gloomed. 'With what happened, you don't feel like celebrating and making noise. That night, Adi (Aditya Chopra) even asked me to go out for dinner with Gauri but you know how it feels like... having lost someone so close to your heart, The actor sums up.
Talking about his relationship with the director, he said "Strange as it is, we rarely discussed a scene or a shot, On the contrary, we spoke about life in general. The most beautiful thing he ever said to me was 'Of all the people I know, you love women in the most respectful way. I've known you for so long. I can't be wrong about this'. That was heartening".
Meanwhile the film fraternity greeted King Khan on this special occasion. Stars enthusiastically filled twitter with warm wishes.
