This is no matter what they would break the clause and if necessary, the film maker himself has to amend the sequence accordingly. Now, actress Kajal Agarrwal who is well known in T–Town and making positive moves in B – Town as well, has strictly told the film makers, no matter what, she would not expose on screen. If the sequence demands, the actress has no hesitation to ask her film makers to change the sequence according to the actress convenience… the actress says, she believes in looking hot in a well fitted jeans and a kurti. Vishwaroopam, Controversy leading towards it's halt in screening! January 25, 2013 16:07

The Andhra Pradesh government on Friday stopped the release of Kamal Haasan's film 'Vishwaroopam' in Hyderabad after some Muslim organisations complained that the movie had hurt religious sentiments of the community. In fact, State Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy directed police to stop the screening till January 28 after some Muslim leaders called on her and demanded a ban on it. Moreover, Hyderabad police commissioner asked cinema distributors not to screen the movie at theatres in the city. Cyberabad police commissioner, covering areas around Hyderabad, also directed theatres not to show the movie even though it is not clear if the movie would be released in the rest of the State. To say more, the court asked the filmmaker to postpone the release till Jan 28 so that it could be viewed the same on January 26. Controversy leading towards it's halt in screening! Vishwaroopam faces another setback... January 23, 2013 16:25

One of the sort after actors of Indian Cinema, Kamal Hassan's highest budget movie, Vishwaroopam faces another setback and this time this is with the release of its Hindi version. Earlier, there was a lot of hungama that went on when the Actor wanted to release this film on Television as a premier a day before the release of the film that was scheduled on 13th January and the theater authorities objecting to the same, resulting to Kamal withdrawing from the idea of the Television premier of the film. Now, the movie is scheduled for the release on this 25th. Apart from the Hindi version, the rest all versions will be released on the same date. The Hindi version ka release has been postponed from 25th January to 1st February. Reason being, one of the much awaited film Race 2 is releasing on 25th January. According to the sources, Kamal has been facing n number of obstacles in terms of the release of Vishwaroopam and the actor did not want to take a chance on the success of the film, so did postponed the release of the Hindi version. Hope, the hard work of Kamal and team comes out to be positive.

Small time film maker’s big time comments... January 22, 2013 15:47

'Telugu film Industry has become more or less like a mafia... the so called 3 or 4 big time film makers who are known to make films with star heroes are ruling the industry and even the theaters as if T - Town is their own personal property. Before Sankranti this year, there were at least 5 to 6 average budget films of well known heroes itself that released and were earning a fair cost of revenue. Each theater has been earning say 30 to 60 thousands of rupees per day, screening these films. But, during Sankranti 2 star heroes ka films were released and the film makers of these films have shared the theaters, passing an ultimatum to the theater owners to remove the screening of existing films and to release their films only. It is sad to notice almost everyone from the industry is supporting these film makers only. But, I will proceed legally if necessary and put an end to the meaningless actions of these film makers', said a film maker, Chedalavaada Srinivasa Rao. It is the anguish of the film maker that made him organize the press conference and let the situation in T - Town... well, ab dekhna ye hai ki how far this issue will go further and at whose end the justice would be.

Ambareesh leads protests against Service taxes January 09, 2013 19:14

Bangalore on Monday has witnessed several protests from actors who were against the service tax for artists who earned more than 10 lakhs. While Superstar Rajinikanth was in the lead trying to protest against the government's new decree that would be in effect from July 1, 2012 according to which every artist who earns more than 10 lakhs would have to pay a sum that is 12.36 per cent as service taxes to the government. This move was widely criticized by the movie associations all over the nation. Rajinikanth pioneered the protests for the Tamilian artists while Venkatesh was spotted protesting along with the artists in Hyderabad. Ambareesh has taken the responsibility for the sandalwood artists. He has the support of artists such as Puneeth Rajkumar, Sudeep, Darshan, Vijaya Raghavendra, Raghavendra Rajkumar, Hema Chaudhary, Sanjana, Sriraksha, Shruthi, Rockline Venkatesh andDoddanna. Ambareesh and co convened at the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) premises while condoning the government decree. He said that since the actors live on the income which is not regular and until and unless one acts in a movie they won't have a steady source of income, it is not fair for the government to take such a decision. He urged them to consider the fact that there are several artists who are not self sufficient too.
