New Bee species named Bazinga!

The highly popular SitCom series The Big Bang Theory has won the laurels of the scientists again after a new bee species was named after the catchphrase Bazinga, used mostly by the applied physicist, Dr Sheldon Cooper. The ultra nerd Physics Geek uses the word whenever he successfully tricks his friends into something ludicrous.

Brazilian biologist has used the catchphrase in the scientific nomenclature of Brazilian Orchid Bee. As per the binomial nomenclature the bee is known as 'Euglossa bazinga' honoring the funny and extremely intelligent Sheldon Cooper. The scientists decided to name the bee with the catchphrase since the bee too, like Cooper, had managed to trick the scientists into believing that it was another already discovered species.

Steven Molaro, the executive producer of the show said that he was “extremely flattered” to learn that the science community embraced his show adding that bees were his third-favorite flying creatures after “Mothra” and Griffins.

Jim Parsons, the artist playing Sheldon Cooper, has won two Emmys for his performance as the clever geek.
