Do you know that eye liners you use effects your vision? It was true and proved by the researchers from University of Waterloo in Canada.
The study stated that eyeliner can alter the tear film, the thin coating protecting the eye and add to discomfort. The researchers used video recordings to observe and compare the amount of eyeliner particles that migrated into the tear film after applying makeup in different styles. Each participant wore glitter eyeliner outside the lash line, and then on the inner lid area closer to the eye, or along the waterline. The scientists found 15 and 30 percent of the particles moved into the eye’s tear film within 5 minutes.
The makeup entered the eye quickly when it was applied inside the lash line. The main reason could be the use of ingredients like waxes, oils, silicones and natural gums which makes the eyeliner to stick and last for prolonged periods causing irritations and infections.
The experts suggest to thoroughly sharp the pencil eyeliner before each application and get rid of the stuff that's stuck to the end to have a fresh tip which can help prevent infection. Even it is advised not to prefer the local brands, it is advised to use only the recommended brands to keep you safe.
