A woman needs to take her of her feet. For a busy woman, it becomes a task better put off for later. For such situations, beautiful feet are not too difficult with a few simple techniques. Feet, to look clear, should have no hard skin on them. Stress or friction on the feet leads to hard skin that can be scraped off with a foot file. Once the hard skin, particularly on the balls and toes, is removed, a strong moisturizer will keep it supple. Wearing comfortable footwear prevents most issues with the skin also. Shoes that compress the feet too much create bad skin and scars. Make sure that the strappy sandals are not so strappy that they dog into the skin of the feet. The right footwear keeps the toe nails safe and pretty. Cutting toenails using the right technique is necessary. Toe nails should be cut straight across with a nail clipper, giving them a squarish look. Long toe nails are not healthy. Leaving the nails free of nail polish from time to time helps to prevent yellowing of the nails. Applying foot creams at night before sleeping is a good practice for the busy women. It prevents formation of unsightly skin on the feet. These are some of the simpler ways to maintain beautiful feet, without having to spend hours on them. (AW: Sruthi)

Lipstick rules for Monsoons July 18, 2013 15:43

The steady rain this season plays havoc with makeup. One wouldn't want to be seen with running mascaras and foundations. But what about unsuitable lipsticks? To have pretty lips, there are some easy rules. Choose lipsticks with smudge proof and nontransferable colors. Women should stick to long lasting lipsticks during the monsoons. Avoiding glosses and cream based lipsticks is also a necessary caution in the rains. What the ladies can do, is to apply lip balm before painting those puckering lips. Once a lip balm is applied, a neat lining of the lips with a lip pencil will lock in the color. Color can be filled in after that. Right methods of applying lipsticks can turn the situation favorable for the well turned out woman. This season, bright lip colors such as red, orange, hot pinks and corals are much in vogue. Makeup artist Niti Luthra was quoted by MSN as saying that Neon shades are perfect for monsoon. "Shades like corals, hot pinks and ruby red work well with every outfit," she said. Luthra added that ladies should avoid gloss, as it makes the look stickier. (AW: Sruthi)
