Chinese fisherman drowns in the sea!

The shocking incident occurred at Umm Al Quwain beach on Tuesday night where a man drowned in the sea while crab fishing with six friends. Umm Al Quwain Police’s rescue unit, Sharjah Air Wing and coastguards managed to recover the Chinese man’s body on the second day. Subsequently it was taken to Umm Al Quwain Hospital. Major Dr Saif Salem, Head of Al Salama Police Station, expressed saying they received a call from one of the victim’s colleagues, also Chinese, about the accident that one of them drowned at sea around 4.30am on Wednesday. He explained that they had divided into two groups,four of them waited on the beach while three of them went into the sea to catch crabs.

Subsequent to nearly two hours, two of the crab fishers returned to join the group on the beach due to high waves, while the third did not. The man expressed saying they were wearing head lamps and they realized their friend had disappeared. A police investigation brought into prominence that the victim did not have a valid visa.

Umm Al Quwain Police well-advised swimmers that they must keep away from rough currents at sea at the same time always wear safety jackets.
