Animation industry has gradually developed into a big business with Hyderabad-based institutes bagging international deals with giant size brands such as Disney, Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. The overall growth of the industry has resulted in spreading out of number of institutes and studios over the past few years in the city.

Moreover, Industry insiders said the city is expected to serve the best of animation production and gaming-related technology soon with leading companies such as DQ Entertainment, Game Shastra, Electronic Arts, Fx Labs, Green Gold Animation setting up operations here.

To say more, officials from various studios and companies here said that in the past five years, more than 50 institutes offering various certificate, diploma and B Sc courses in animation have come up in the city and every year at least four new studios and companies set up shop here. The reason of this increasing number being that the youth here are keen on taking up a career in this field, fascinated by the wide range of opportunities and quick increase in remuneration. "Now, Hyderabad is arguably the hub for animation in India, with more than 50% of international jobs coming to the country being handled by city-based companies," sources said.
