Dipak Mishra Appointed As Next Chief Justice Of India:- The senior most judge of Supreme Court, Mr. Dipak Mishra (63) was appointed as the next Chief Justice of India on Tuesday.

The Law Ministry has issued the official notification on Tuesday evening, announcing Mishra’s appointment. Mishra will take over from incumbent J S Khehar. Khehar will retire on August 27.

According to reports, CJI Khehar had nominated Mishra for the top judicial post in July. Mishra was born on October 3, 1953.

Justice Mishra in the Orissa High Court and the Service Tribunal had practiced in Constitutional, Civil, Criminal, Revenue, and Service and Sales Tax matters.

In the Orissa High Court, Mishra also worked as an Additional Judge. On March 3, 1997, he has also been a judge in the Madhya Pradesh High Court. On December 19, 1997, he became a permanent Judge.

On May 24, 2010, Justice Mishra became the Chief Justice of Delhi High Court, and got promoted as Judge in the Supreme Court of India on October 10, 2011.
