In their first public reaction to their father’s death, the sons of the slain Al-Qaida terrorist leader Osama Bin Laden lambasted the US president Barack Obama for violating all principles of natural justice and international law by killing an unarmed man, shooting his family members and throwing the body in sea.
The statement of Osama’s sons, published in the New York Times today, asked the Obama Administration as to why Laden was not arrested and tried in a court of law to reveal the truth to the world.
The adult sons of Osama prepared the statement at the instance of Omar bin Laden, 30, who always opposed the violent methods of his father. Omar bin Laden, who lived with his father in Afghanistan until 1999, later openly criticised in a book and public statements his father for adopting the violent ways and killing the innocent people.
“As Omar Bin Laden condemned our father and his violence, we now condemn the president of the United States for ordering the execution of unarmed men and women,” said the statement.
The statement has requested Pakistan Government to hand over to family members the three wives and children of Osama, now in the custody of Pakistani army, and sought investigation by the United Nations into the killing of Osama.
