Sleuths of the IT department today quizzed Kanimozhi, DMK MP and daughter of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Karunanidhi in Chennai for one-and-a-half hour in connection with the receipt of Rs.200 Cr from Shahid Balwa-owned DB Realty by the Kalaignar TV in which she has stakes.

 

The 43-year-old MP visited the Tamil Nadu IT headquarters on summons from the department and after the questioning, Kanimozhi left the IT office through a rear exit to avoid media persons waiting out side the main gates.

 

The sources in the IT department said the sleuths may question her again in the near future after verifying the answers provided by her today. Balwa is a co-accused in the 2G spectrum scam and is now under judicial custody.

 

Kalaignar TV Managing Director Sharad Kumar was also questioned by the IT officials. Sources said that they were quizzed separately in two rooms by the officers of a cadre of Deputy Director.

 

Both Ms. Kanimozhi and Mr. Kumar had already appeared before the Enforcement Directorate office in New Delhi in connection the 2G spectrum case.
