Congress has been in a desperate bid to wield the power in the forthcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh the young leaders of the Gandhian clan, Rahul and Priyanka are posed to criss-cross across the state to enlighten the various development policies of the UPA government. While the party President Sonia Gandhi took the charge of Uttrakhand, the Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are focusing Uttar Pradesh.
The out of the bounds of concentration to bring back the state into the Congress fold, has drawn up battle lines across Uttar Pradesh. Party sources say that Ms. Sonia and the Prime Misniter Manmohan Singh also shall address at least one rally each in UP. As of now Rahul aided by Priyanka are going all out to woo voters in UP.
Priyanka on Monday reached Fursatganj on a three-day tour of Chattrapati Shahuji Maharaj Nagar and Rae Bareli. On the other hand Rahul will begin his tour of Bundelkhand region from Tuesday. Priyanka's three-day tour will be confined only to the assembly segments falling in the Parliamentary constituencies of Sonia and Rahul Gandhi --- Raebareli and Amethi -- for the time being.
So far, Rahul has covered about 78 Assembly segments of the state. The party is also releasing 'Vision 2020' documents for Uttar Pradesh. The booklets to be issued from 10 places in the state simultaneously this week, will unveil party's future programmes for the "turn around" of the Mayawati-ruled state, a senior leader speaking on the condition of anonymity said.
