Vladamir Putin has sworn in as the president of Russia on Monday. He took the oath with his hand on the Russian Constitution. This happens to be the third term for Vladamir Putin to take the oath as the president of Russia. The ceremony was a grand event at Kremlin’s St. Andrew Hall where more than 1,500 guests marked their presence.
Putin will now serve as the president of the country for another six years and in 2018 he’s expected to step down. He, however, has an option to take up the consecutive fourth term. Valadamir Putin’s nomination was opposed by the opposition activists who tried to lay siege to St. Andrew Hall to obstruct the oath ceremony.
The security personnel who were pressed into action have put the protestors into police vehicles by dragging them by the hair and neck. The top investigative agency has told the media that it would file criminal charges against some of the arrested. It may be mentioned that as many as 400 protestors were arrested.
Meanwhile, Vladamir Putin has said that it was a pride moment to him and service to the fatherland and their nation was the real meaning of his life. (Phani)
