The former union telecom minister A Raja, who is an accused in 2G spectrum scam, has moved Delhi court on Wednesday seeking bail. It is known that A Raja has been in the judicial custody for past 15 months. He is at Tihar Jail.

It may be noted that another accused in the case, Kanimozhi, who is also a daughter of DMK leader, Karunanidhi, was also remanded to judicial custody and kept at same prison earlier. She, however, got a bail after a couple of months.

Now Raja wants to get come out of jail on a bail. In fact, 14 individuals were arrested in connection with this case but except for Raja all of them are on bail now.

A notice was given to the Central Bureau of Investigation to respond on Raja’s bail petition. The bail plea of Raja would be heard on May 11. (Phani)
