The famous Jagannath Rathyatra (chariot pulling) in Odisha is taking place today. Lakhs of devotees who arrived at Puri for taking part in the annual ceremony are pulling the three divine chariots of Lord Jagannath, Bala Rama and their sister Subhadra from Shree Mandir to Gundicha Temple in Puri. The nine-day chariot pulling ceremony, which kick started today, will be concluding  on June 29. The sources have said that nearly 10 lakh devotees from all parts of the world are expected during the nine-day rathyatra.

The police took all arrangements to ensure no untoward incident takes place during the rathyatra. It may be noted that DGP of Odisha, Praharaj has said that there's a possible terror attack in rathyatra. He, however, asked public not to get panic since tight security has been beefed up.
