The 13th President of India, Mr Pranab Mukherjee is scheduled to visit Chennai on September 8. He will be taking part in a special function, which will be organized on the eve of Madras High Court completing its 150th year of formation. It has to be mentioned here that the Madras High Court Chief Justice M Y Iqbal and other senior judges have met the president Pranab Mukherjee and asked him to take part in the programme.

Pranab Mukherjee has accepted the invitation. Therefore, he will visit Chennai for the first time as the President in September. It may be noted that Pranab Mukherjee has kick started his election campaign for presidential elections from Chennai. While ruling AIADMK didn't support Pranab's candidature, he was backed by DMK.
