Tea estate owners set on fire by workers

The manager-owner of a tea estate in Assam along with his wife were burnt down to death by the workers in the tea garden at Bordumasa, the Arunachal Pradesh Assam border. The incident occurred in Tinsukia district a couple of days ago.

While there is identity crisis of the two bodies recovered at the site of the aggression, the police positively believe that the two bodies belonged to the owner and his wife. Their vehicles were also damaged in the arson.

Mridul Kumar Bhattacharya, the owner of the MKB tea estate and his Wife Rita Bhattacharya were attacked by 200 angry laborers who set their house on fire after there was a minor clash regarding their salary dues with the laborers.

The workers were also enraged after Bhattacharya lodged an FIR on two workers earlier on Tuesday.
