The famous writer and lyricist of Hindi cinema, Rajyasabha MP Padma Bhushan Javed Akhtar bashed Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is undemocratic and anti-national whom 90% of the Indians oppose him.

Javed Akhtar talks about Modi to media representatives during a function in a school at Patna, "Besides, all talks of involvement in Gujarat riots of 2002 which are before the courts, this man is not democratic.  Amid chants of registering hat-trick in Gujarat one thing is glossed over - that he has given a damn to democracy in the state ... His rise is a challenge to democracy."

Previously when Javed Akhtar remarked last month that Modi can never become a good Prime Minsiter as he is not only tainted with communal riots but also he is undemocratic, he started receiving rebuking text messages.

Responding on the messages he tweeted, “The kind of crude, indecent and vulgar messages I get from Modi lovers establishes the low quality of his followers”.

Recently he commented on the micro blogger, "Some idiots imply that opposing Modi is an anti national activity.   Are they suggesting that we, the 90 % Indians are anti-nationals?"

Javed Akhtar implies by that 90% of the Indians are against Modi’s Prime Ministerial candidature.
