Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi expressed his concern for Yoga which has been neglected by all Indian Governments whoever ruled so far. He also complained that British Government intentionally suppressed it prior to that.
Narendra Modi inaugurated Lakulish Yoga University at Ahmadabad which is the first of its kind established by private sector. Gujarat Life Mission Trust initiated the project. After its inauguration, Modi delivered a speech in which he said that Yoga has a prominent place in the lives of mankind for its constructive progress.
The founder of the organization Swamy Rajarshi said that yoga instructors from all most all the countries are working for the institute. The students, swamy said, will get instructions in their desired language. The tenure of the course in Yoga offered by the institute is 3 years after which a certificate will be issued.
The State of Andhra Pradesh too has a Yoga Center run by Andhra University at Visakhapatnam, on the beach road overlooking sea. The center is run by the University which is headed by the professors of the University with a number of instructors conducting classes for basic and advanced courses and issuing certificates of Andhra University to the participants who ever successfully complete the courses and passes the written examination too.
