Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi has denied the news of contesting against BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi from Varanasi. Speaking to an news channel, Priyanka said, “it was never in my thoughts to battle the elections. However, Rahul Gandhi wanted me to contest the elections.”
However reports say that Priyanka was initially up against Modi but the Congress high command was disinterested in her. Priyanka further added that “to contest the elections or not is pure my personal decision and my family wont obstruct me if I want to battle the polls.”
Priyanka Gandhi is currently busy managing the campaign programs in Sonia and Rahul's constituency Rae Bareli and Amethi in Uttar Pradesh.
