The Mumbai Starlet Deepika Padukone has been in a controversy with the Race-2 producer Ramesh Taurani for dumping the film, after the initial shoot. The actor’s PR instead said that, Dippy had only shot for two hours and the film unit did not plan well wasting the actors valuable call sheets for last two months. But grape vine reveals that the actor has dumped the Saif Ali Khan and Sanjay Dutt starrer for Kochadaiyaan, a periodic film starring Superstar Rajnikanth. The rumor gains weight as the starlet refused the film only after receiving a positive response from Soundarya Ashwin (Superstar’s daughter) the producer of the film.
The much infuriated producer vented out his feelings, as per a media source, `Her manager Anirban said that she has bagged a big Hollywood film and it's a lifetime opportunity for her. So we had to let her go." But after realizing the ways things had taken shape the offended producer added, `We have to immediately look for her replacement and re-shoot her portions all over again. She has not only caused inconvenience to us but also to her co-stars who had allotted their dates for the shoot.’ Adding further, `It's a highly unprofessional behavior. In my entire career of 28 films, I have never faced such a situation. It's not done.’ Probably the producer might lodge a complaint against Deepika with the Cine & TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA). But on the other hand a source close to the starlet claimed that the rumors were untrue. Also complaining that the Race – 2 unit had not planned well and kept changing scripts, in the process added Sanjay Dutt, who was not in the original cast.
