Off late the top bureaucrats, politicians and business men of the state are frequenting visits to the prisons, unheard till date. Whether it is on a long term or a short term visit, due to ACB or CBI, Chanchalguda prison in Hyderabad is often in news for all reasons. With the VVIPs forming queues to the prisons, cushy stay is definitely high on the agenda. As you never know when one will come out free from allegations and get back to power in this democratic country. In such situations vindictive actions for the officials involved are inevitable, as per history. But that is not the point of our discussion in this header.
However the issue is sure to be the backdrop of what is planned below. While many officers handling such VVIP accused would like to be their best judiciously, very few would like to rough up them, taking stock into their own personal security. On the other hand an intelligent jailer made hay at the Chanchaguda prison, which was flooded with VVVVIPS (I would like to add more Vs but space does not permit-you know). This gentlemen understood that this is a time to make a fortune and got sweetly overpowered by the elite gentleman currency and traded them with loads of goodies in return.
Sounds amazing that even the person inside the prison is no short of the benefits he enjoyed while staying out is really worth noting. From room benefits, to mobile usage and good food and what not with unlimited visitors. Infact more party decisions took place with in the Chanchalguda during the recent by-elections, say sources (but that is off the records).
How did all this come out: The recent shuffle of officers in uniform let the cat out of the bags. As per a reliable source the Prisons department of the state has recommended the transferring of the superintendent of the Chanchalguda Central Prison Keshav Naidu. It is alleged that the superintendent was overpowered by the currency of mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy and in return was given a cushy treatment during the former's stay, after being arrested by the CBI in the illegal mining case. Is it a tip of the ice berg or is the end, wait to know more! The reasons for the speculations is that there are bigger VVIPs lodged at the prison and the stakes could be high.
