When passion becomes a curse

Music--this word has become such an important part in everyone's life that music minus life would be something unimaginable to scores of people. While some pursue music as the career, many of them seek solace in listening to the heart touching songs that not just lifts the moods but even throws one out of boredom. But, did anyone realize that too much of anything can literally take toll over people's lives? Is yes, people won't be spotted on roads putting their two ears engaged with headphones.

While some walk on roads with their headphones on, some zoom in and out of their two wheelers while listening to music. The other day when Andhra Wishesh team was busy heading to meet some political big wigs on getting some information in our four wheeler, there was a person who was not responding to our horn and was continuously obstructing our way. We initially thought he must be doing it deliberately but later realized that there were headphones that were deeply dug into the ears. Now where's the scope for the motor cyclist to hear our beeps when he's busy enjoying the music. Did he ever imagine how dangerous it is to search for means to skip horns and traffic sounds?

Not just this guy for that matter every eight persons among 10 we come across are found either listening to music or talking on phone with hands free. In fact, a woman was recently mowed down by a bus only because she couldn't respond on time about the alarm raised by her neighbours about the speeding vehicle towards her.

Passion is something that makes people reach zenith. But the same passion should not grab happiness  and lights from the lives of their families. Listening to music is perfectly okay as long as you don't listen to it when you are at least on roads. Friends, it's an appeal, please tell your near and dear ones to stay away from headphones and phones when in traffic. If you are so obsessed or cannot welcome our appeal, then please keep at least one ear open to the world.
