Vijayawada Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal hits headlines each time Telangana issue attracts media's attention. But then for the past couple of months, Lagadapati Rajagopal is staying mum on the issue. Does this clearly indicate that Congress high command asked him to remain silent as formation of Telangana state was inevitable? Or any other specific reason behind this?

Well, TDP is becoming stronger in Vijayawada from where Lagadapati Rajagopal contents for Lok Sabha usually. In order to counter TDP, the sources close to AICC said, Congress high command was keen in fielding Daggubati Purandareshwari for MP seat from Vijayawada. These discussions are apparently making Lagadapati Rajagopal to concentrate on his political future, said observers. According to sources, Lagadapati Rajagopal is busy lobbying in Delhi for MP ticket.

Anyway, if a leader is fighting for any cause, he/she should not go into hibernation. While we don't know if really there was lobbying taking place for ticket in Delhi or not, but this much is sure that Lagadapati is maintaining a low profile and not taking on Telangana issue. With the silence of Rajagopal, observers opined, a major hurdle in Telangana formation almost got sidelined.
