So, the verdict is out. Some have absolutely loved it and some have absolutely hated it. We're talking about Zanjeer/Toofan. Those who had preconceived notions before looking at Charan's work are thrashing it anyway. And those who him liked earlier are now praising him to the skies.
Good or bad, Charan is one lucky guy. His Bollywood debut is being screened in over 3500 screens across the country. Add to that the film's production cost. Zanjeer was apparently made with a whooping budget, but is expected to enter the 100 Crore club, considering many factors.
Released on 6th September, the film had already received rave reviews after the trailer launch. The talk and hype of Zanjeer was building up to this moment. Though some have brutally gaven it only one week before it fails, just the sheer number of theaters playing it would make it a success in only one week.
No comparisons. Zanjeer should be judged on its own merit and not ripped apart for similarities or differences with Amitabh's Zanjeer. Stony faced or not, Charan excelled in showing plenty of anger. Again, just the hype up to this moment would ensure maximum eyeballs. Whether the film is good or bad comes later. The fate of Toofan is still sketchy, but Zanjeer will surely rake in the moolah.
One for the critics, Zanjeer has turned out to be a better Bollywood debut for Charan than it is a Tollywood debut for Priyanka Chopra. Action scenes have always been his strength and he has made the most of it.
