In a severe jolt to the prospects of YSR Congress in the by elections, Badvelu congress MLA Ms. Kamalamma, a hardcore loyalist of the former MP YS Jaganmohan reddy, today met the health minister and congress candidate for the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat Mr DL Ravindra reddy and assured him of her support in the by polls.

There were reports a week ago that Kamalamma felt aggrieved at her being neglected by the YSR Congress chief Jagan and she may switch loyalties in favour of the congress.

Kamalamma was very aggressive in her support to Jagan and vocal in criticizing the congress government policies. But reports said she felt suffocated in the Jagan party as she was not given any important role in the affairs of the party. She has developed unhappiness at being neglected by Jagan, according to sources.

This morning, the MLA directly came to the DCC office in Kadapa and held discussions with Ravindra reddy and another minister Ahmadulla to extend her support.

Later Ravindra reddy told media persons that he was hopeful of some more leaders from the Jagan camp switching loyalties towards the congress paving the way for his victory in Kadapa and that of congress candidate Vivekananda reddy in Pulivendula assembly by-poll.
