
Minister Botsa Satyanarayana attacked former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan reddy-owned Sakshi TV channel for telecasting a cooked-up story continuously today on the death of a B. Tech student Vara Lakshmi saying that the girl has committed suicide as there was no reimbursement of her college fee from the government.
Making it clear that the death of Vara Lakshmi is not a case of suicide, the minister said that the girl died as she had caught fire while cooking. The girl also gave a death statement to the magistrate that she caught fire when she was busy cooking at home.
Sakshi channel telecast the Vara Lakshmi story continuously today in the wake of the announcement by Jagan that he would undertake fast in Hyderabad on February 18 demanding the release of funds for fee reimbursement of students.
The minister asked the channel and its owner Jagan not to carry a misinformation campaign for political mileage and to create unrest among students.
