TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu charged that the farmers in the state are put to suffer a loss of nearly Rs.3000 Cr because of the inefficiency of the state government and inexperience of the chief minister Kirankumar reddy.
Speaking to media persons in Delhi this afternoon after having discussions with the Union Agricultural Minister Sharad Pawar, Naidu charged that the state government had used the FCI go-downs to store liquor bottles while the farmers were made to suffer as there were no gunny bags to purchase paddy or even no go-down space to store the purchased paddy.
Naidu said that he had requested Sharad Pawar to ensure higher support price for paddy in the state and order the immediate purchase of paddy by the authorities.
Criticizing the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh for not giving him an audience despite his request for the fourth time, Naidu said that both the state and central governments have failed in their duty to protect the interest of farmers in the state.
“Despite my busy work with Maha Nadu of the TDP, I came here to meet the PM and the agricultural minister but the PM has no time to discuss with me the farmers’ problems,” he said.
