Ponnam asks LR to get out of congress

PonnamPrabhakarAccusing the Seema Andhra politicians of trying to suppress the Telangana agitation, congress MP of the Telangana region Mr Ponnam Prabhakar today asked Vijayawada MP Mr Lagadapati Rajagopal either to respect the party views and stay with congress or get out of it.

Speaking to media persons in Delhi, Ponnam said no leader should try to impose their opinions on leadership and expressed the hope that the high command will not bow before people like Rajagopal. “People like Rajagopal should respect the party and stay with it or should leave it,” he said.

Reacting to the statement of MP Mr. Madhu Yaskhi Goud that there are some betrayers in the T congress, Ponnam said it could be true but assured to take steps to make them fall in line. Asserting that they are fully committed for the cause of Telangana, he said he was hopeful of the party accepting the demand for separate state. “We don’t want any Gorkhaland-like package for Telangana. We want only separate state of Telangana and if there is no separate state, we will go by the wishes of the people,” he said.

He also alleged that the media is also exhibiting over enthusiasm and going overboard in writing useless things on the issue.
