The Nepali Army, at the request of the Indian government and AP Government, has kept ready two helicopters to ferry Lakshminarayana and his troop of pilgrims to safety after they were abandoned to their fate by their travel agent Southern Travels.
The choppers could not reach the place on Sunday where the Minister and other pilgrims were stranded because of the inclement weather.
Kanna and his batch gave anxious moments on Sunday to the AP Government and the people of the state after they were forced to spend the day in the chilliest weather of the Himalayas on a ghat road between two icy hillocks at Hilsa on the Nepal-Tibetan border.
