Congress president Sonia Gandhi underwent a major surgery successfully at a leading hospital in the US for a specified medical ailment on July 4.
Disclosing this to media persons in Delhi this morning, the party spokesman Janardhan Dwivedi said her condition was satisfactory. “At the moment, she is in the ICU,” he said.
Dwivedi, however, did not disclose the name of the hospital and the city in the US where she underwent the surgery and the details of the operation.
Son Rahul Gandhi, daughter Priyanka Vadra and son-in-law Robert Vadra are with Ms. Gandhi taking care of Sonia, he said. “Ms. Gandhi’s family wants privacy and their wish should be respected,” he said simply refusing to give more details.
