The Reddy brothers of Bellary, Gali Janardhan Reddy and Gali Karunakar reddy, are said to be planning to quit BJP and join the YSR Congress party led by the Kadapa MP Mr YS Jaganmohan reddy.
With the recent winds of change in Karnataka, the Gali brothers have fallen from grace in the BJP hierarchy. While the chief minister Sadananda Gowda has kept them at arm’s length by not inducting them into the ministry, the BJP top leadership also has reportedly decided to undermine their stature in the party.
BJP top leader Ms Sushma Swaraj was once very close to them but she too disowned them recently. With no destination in sight to reach, YSR congress party of Jagan seems to have attracted their attention now. The mining lords of Bellary are very close to the YSR family and they also maintain an excellent rapport with Jagan by frequently meeting him.
“The brothers may soon quit the BJP and join the YSR Congress to strengthen the hands of Jagan,” said a source close to them. However, it is not yet clear whether they would troop into the AP politics or launch a Karnataka branch of the party.
