14 F clause removed from zonal rules

pratibha-patelPresident Pratibha Patil today issued orders deleting the 14 F clause related to the recruitment process for the posts of SIs in Hyderabad. The Presidential Secretariat issued a notification to this effect.

With the notification, Hyderabad would no more be a free zone and the city would now form part of the 6th zone consisting of Rangareddy, Mahaboobnagar, Medak, Nalgonda and Nizamabad. The presidential order removing the 14 F clause comes a day ahead of the writing examinations for the recruitment of SI posts commencing on August 13. The examinations will be held for two days.

The Telangana Students’ JAC has been agitating for the removal of this clause for a long time and it organized a Telangana bandh demanding its removal on August 10.

Previously, candidates from the Seema Andhra areas were also allowed to participate in the examinations for the recruitment of SI posts in the capital city as Hyderabad was a free zone. They would now lose this opportunity with the latest notification.

However, the examinations taking place tomorrow and day after are not related to the vacancies in Hyderabad.
