In a gesture to support the mass general strike (Sakala janula samme) beginning September 13, the CPI –ML new democracy has decided to organize a mammoth public meeting in Khammam on September 19 involving the Telangana supporters from various walks of life.
The meeting will be attended by the Telangana political JAC convener Prof. Kodanda ram reddy, TRS Chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao, rebel TDP MLA Mr Nagam Janardhan reddy and TNGO Association president Mr Swami Goud and other pro-Telangana leaders.
CPI-ML leaders said in a statement such meetings are scheduled to be held in all districts of Telangana as part of the plan to bring total awareness about the T stir.
Meanwhile, Kodanda ram warned the government against its idea of arresting the pro-Telangana leaders who have decided to make the mass general strike a grand success. “We will resist all attempts to arrest us and the T activists will not allow the government to function properly,” said Kodanda ram.
The JAC activists today burnt the effigies of Minister Danam Nagender and Congress MLA Mr Marri Sasidhar reddy for not resigning their posts for the sake of Telangana. Kodanda Ram also asked the JAC activists to hold banners and posters across Telangana asking the leaders like Nagender and Sasidhar reddy not to visit the villages unless and until they quit their posts.
