A CBI special team today paid a visit to the residence of Tollywood hero Mr Mahesh Babu at Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad and recorded the statement of his wife Ms. Namrata Shirodkar on purchasing a villa in the Emaar Estates at dead cheaper rates.
The visit was part of the investigation being carried out by the CBI into the APIIC-Emaar land scam which resulted in a revenue loss of more than Rs. 500 Cr to the funds-starved state government.
The CBI has already announced that its officers would visit the female members who bought villas in the Emaar Properties and record their statements at their houses while all male buyers would have to visit their Koto office for investigation.
The CBI sleuths were eliciting information from the villa owners on purchasing the villa plots at the rate of Rs.5000 per square yard from the Emaar Estates while the registration price was higher at Rs.14, 000 and more per square yard.
