65 passengers were injured, some of them seriously, when a crowded RTC bus turned turtle at Borlam village in the Banswada Mandalam of Nizamabad district this morning. Reports said that most of the passengers are students.
The accident occurred when the driver tried to avoid a head on collision with a speeding car coming in the opposite direction and lost control of the vehicle. The RTC bus was coming from Hanumanjipet to Banswada.
Locals called 108 service for medical emergency but they didn’t turn up as the staff of the medical department were on strike for the last few days. Locals then took the injured to the nearby hospitals in available autos and tractors.
