The parking slot of a five storied apartment complex at Santhi Nagar in Kakinada today completely sank into the ground sending the residents into jitters.
The parking lot of the complex ‘Syamala Sadan’ where several vehicles are parked and children are playing sank into the ground. In the process some portion of the first floor also slipped into the ground.
Unconfirmed reports said that 15 persons were stuck up in the debris and efforts were on to rescue them. Soon after the incident, residents of the complex came on to the roads fearing for their lives.
Fire and police personnel rushed to the spot to take steps to rescue the trapped persons. Meanwhile rumours spread that there was an earthquake in the town. More information of the building which sank into the ground is awaited.
