On Monday an elderly man from Vizag was arrested for allegedly seeking sexual favours from his daughter-in-law. According to IV town police, Ananta Laks-hmi, 18, of Dondaparthy was married in February this year to Manga Reddy, who works in the Indian Railways as a driver.

Recently Manga Reddy got transferred to Palasa in Srikakulam and was living there alone, leaving his wife at his parents’ place. Ananta Lakshmi, in her complaint to police stated that in her husband’s absence, her father in law Rambabu Reddy, a retired employee, several times forced her to have sex with him.

She also stated that her husband Manga Reddy had been torturing her physically, demanding extra dowry. IV town pol-ice booked cases against Manga Reddy and other family members under IPC Section 498A, Sections 3 and 4 of the Indian Dowry Prohibition Act.

Police booked a case against Rambabu Reddy under IPC Section 354 for trying to outrage the modesty of a woman. IV town police took both father and son into custody.
