The AP High Court today dismissed a petition filed by Mr Varaprasad, brother of the once south Indian sex star Silk Smitha seeking to stop the screenings the film ‘The Dirty Picture’ in AP.

The picture has become controversial as its story is reportedly based on the life and times of Silk Smitha who committed suicide some years ago in Chennai.

Mr Prasad approached the court saying that the movie contained obscene visuals denigrating his sister and sought ban on its screening in AP. The movie is slated for release on Dec 3 across India and abroad.

‘The Dirty Picture’ has Vidya Balan and Nasiruddin Shah in lead roles and is produced by Ekta Kapoor. (JUBS)
