Akbar advocates united AP, but suggests Hyderabad as T capital if divided

MIM leader Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi today reiterated his party’s commitment to a united Andhra Pradesh but said Hyderabad must be the capital city of Telangana in case of an inevitable division of the state.

Participating in the debate on the no-confidence motion in the assembly, Akbaruddin said the state has lost Rs.30, 000 Cr revenue because of the Telangana agitation and the Centre must take an immediate decision on the issue.

“We are committed to the policy of no division but if the division is inevitable, Hyderabad must be the capital of Telangana state,” he said.

Akbaruddin said that his party MIM would support the government and vote against the no-confidence motion. “However, we will not support the mistakes of the government,” he said.

Observing that politics in the state have dipped to the lowest ebb, he warned the government that liquor mafia has reached a position to dictate terms to the government. Akbaruddin also found fault with the land distribution to several organizations in recent times. “The state will go to dogs if you go on distributing land,” he cautioned.

Akbaruddin also attacked the government on the Rs.1 per kg rice scheme. “What will the people do with this rice when the prices of all essential commodities are skyrocketing?” he asked the government showing a glass of rice. (JUBS)
