That Hyderabad city has become a haven for drug peddlers and users was once again proved with the arrest of one Zaved of Mumbai and recovering 40 gm of cocaine from him this morning in Banjara Hills area.

Police got a tip off that banned substances have arrived in city in bulk as the New Year day has been fast approaching and people from posh Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills and Film Nagar area have placed orders for drugs.

Police laid a trap on Zaved and arrested him while he was waiting for some persons to hand over the consignment.

Police in the past arrested several persons including some Nigerians who were caught red handed selling drugs. Most of drug users in Hyderabad are Tollywood personalities and sons and daughters of top businessmen of the city.

Despite police warnings to the drug smugglers and the users, the drug trade has been flourishing well in the AP state capital. (JUBS)
