With the death of Prathik Reddy son of former minister Komatireddy and two others in a road accident on Tuesday.Home Minister P Sabitha Indira Reddy had a meeting on Wednesday with the higher police officials regarding the frequent accidents which are taking place in Outer Ring Road.After the review, government has taken assured steps to anticipate the accidents on the Outer Ring Road.Government has set a ban on the entry of two wheelers.
It has been decided to set up police out-posts at every 25 kilometres on the entire stretch of the Outer Ring Road. Speed guns will also be installed or utilised on the Outer Ring Road.
From January 1 the patrolling to be started and it will extended to the national highway.As many as 10 patrolling vehicles would be deployed for the ORR which would be manned by 40 policemen.
Since 2010, as many as 38 people have died and 39 others suffered injuries in different roads accidents. Of them, 10 were related to two wheelers, four accidents were of three-wheelers and 46 accidents involving four-wheelers occurred on the Outer Ring Road.
Home Minister Sabitha Indira Reddy asked the police officials to make a specified Action Plan to prevent the accidents which are happening frequently on Outer Ring Road.
