Botsa demands CBI probe into liquor syndicates

PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana, who has been aggressively trying to consolidate his political fortunes in the state politics, has reportedly asked the CM Kirankumar reddy to order a CBI investigation into the activities of liquor syndicates.

A section of the media said today that Botsa met the CM at his camp office on Dec 24 and discussed the ACB raids on the liquor syndicates. “There are reports that the ACB raids have been ordered by you to corner your political rivals including me but I don’t believe these reports. However, the media reports to that effect have tarnished the image of our government and the congress establishment in the state. So, the CBI must be asked to investigate the matter,” Botsa asked the CM, handing over a letter to him with his demand.

Botsa, who sent a copy of the letter to the party high command, referred in his letter to the reports that the ACB raids have established the involvement of ministers, party MLAs and officials in the affairs of the liquor syndicates.

“These reports have damaged the prestige and reputation of the party and government in the state and we must clear the air to the public.  Otherwise, people will take the media reports for granted causing further damage to the party ahead of the 2014 elections,” Botsa seemed to have pointed out in his letter.

Though Botsa met the CM and set forth his demand a few days ago, the issue came to the notice of the journalists only on Wednesday. The reports said Botsa failed to extract an assurance from the CM on ordering a CBI probe. (JUBS)
